Midshift.
Process improvement recommendations in hours, not months
Midshift is an AI-powered process improvement platform. Easily transcribe how work actually gets done, run your processes through our intake system, analyse, identify inefficiencies, and receive improvement recommendations, including opportunities for automation and AI implementation. Built on 20 years of BA and Lean Six Sigma expertise. Now automated.
Hours
- Not months— full engagement turnaround
Eight phases
- End-to-end methodology, automated
Free tier
- Run your first process at no cost

Every SME has broken processes. Most do not know exactly where.
Traditional process improvement costs tens of thousands of dollars and takes months. Internal attempts stall without a methodology. The problems stay invisible — until they become expensive.
Time bleeding unnoticed
Consultants you cannot afford
Improvement attempts that stall
Fifteen years of process consulting methodology. Now automated.
- Lean (DOWNTIME) : Identifies and categorises the eight types of operational waste
- BABOK: Business Analysis Body of Knowledge — requirements and process standards
- BPM CBOK: Business Process Management Common Body of Knowledge
- ADKAR: Change readiness and implementation success model
Midshift productises the same analytical framework a senior BA applies in a two-week process improvement engagement — and runs it in hours. You go through a structured intake, your team completes short AI-facilitated interviews, and Midshift produces a complete professional deliverable: process maps, improvement recommendations, an automation opportunity assessment, and an implementation roadmap.
The AI does not replace the expertise. It operationalises it. Every output is built on the same frameworks that Big 4 consultants use — Lean, BABOK, BPM CBOK, and ADKAR — embedded into the analysis engine.
The result: a structured improvement roadmap your leadership can act on. Without the consulting invoice.
Seven professional deliverables. One engagement.
Current State Process Map
Pain Point Register
SOP Gap Analysis
Improvement Opportunity Register
Future State Process Design
Automation Opportunity Assessment
Implementation Roadmap
Final deliverable format
All seven components are packaged into a single professional Word document — executive summary, methodology, findings, recommendations, and roadmap — formatted, branded, and ready to present to leadership or a board. You also receive editable source files for each component.
An eight-phase methodology — fully guided, mostly automated.
Phase 1 — Intake (5 min)
Complete a simple form: process name, owner, known pain points, systems involved, strategic priorities, digital maturity. Upload an existing SOP if you have one.
Phase 2 — AI stakeholder interviews (15–20 min each)
The Midshift AI interviewer conducts natural conversations with each stakeholder via browser chat. No jargon, no preparation required. Typically 3–5 people.
Phase 3 — Transcript analysis
Interview transcripts are analysed against the intake information. Patterns, inconsistencies, and undocumented steps are identified automatically.
Phase 4 — Current state process map
A documented map of how the process actually works — based on what stakeholders reported, not what the SOP says. Pain points annotated in context.
Phase 5 — Opportunity identification
Midshift applies Lean DOWNTIME, BABOK, and BPM CBOK frameworks to identify improvement and automation opportunities. Each rated for impact and effort.
Phase 6 — Your review (30 min)
You review the identified opportunities and confirm priorities. Add context, adjust scope, and flag anything that needs more stakeholder input before finalisation.
Phase 7 — Report generation
The full seven-component report is generated and formatted. Professional Word document ready for presentation.
Phase 8 — Handover and next steps
A 30-minute handover call walks you through the report, answers questions, and confirms your implementation priorities.
Typical timeline
From intake completion to final report: 2–5 business days depending on interview scheduling and process complexity. Simple processes with 3 stakeholders: 2 days. Complex multi-department processes: up to 5 days.

Common questions
What kind of processes can Midshift analyse?
Most business processes: accounts payable, customer onboarding, staff onboarding, procurement, complaints handling, service delivery, contract management, reporting cycles, compliance processes, IT support workflows, and more. If the process involves people, steps, and systems — Midshift can analyse it. If you are unsure, run the free tier engagement and see the output for yourself.
How long does it take?
From intake completion to final report: typically 2–5 business days depending on interview scheduling and process complexity. Simple processes with 3 stakeholders: 2 days. Complex multi-department processes: up to 5 days. We are transparent about timelines at intake.
Do my stakeholders need to do anything?
Each stakeholder participates in a 15–20 minute AI-facilitated interview via browser chat. No preparation required. No jargon. The AI asks natural questions and guides the conversation. Most stakeholders find it easier than a traditional interview — they can be honest without worrying about being judged.
Is the output really Big 4 quality?
Yes. The deliverable uses the same frameworks (Lean DOWNTIME, BABOK, BPM CBOK, ADKAR), the same categories, and the same professional structure. The difference is that Midshift applies them systematically across every engagement rather than depending on the seniority of the consultant assigned. We back this claim — the free tier exists specifically so you can verify the output before committing to paid tiers.
What if my process is really complex?
Midshift handles complex processes — multiple decision points, handoffs across departments, exception handling, system integrations, compliance requirements. Engagements with 20+ steps across 10+ stakeholders are within scope. For highly complex processes spanning multiple departments, we recommend the Professional tier or an Enterprise conversation.
Is my data secure?
Yes. Data is encrypted in transit and at rest. We do not use your process data to train AI models. Interview transcripts and reports are only accessible by your organisation. We are working toward SOC 2 compliance (V2 feature). NZ data residency will be available as an option (V3 feature).
Can consultants use Midshift for their own clients?
Absolutely. Many solo and boutique consultants use Midshift Professional to dramatically reduce the time cost of a process engagement — delivering more value to clients at higher margin. Enterprise tier includes a white-label option so you can deliver Midshift outputs branded to your own consultancy. Contact us if you are interested in the consultant use case.
